About this file
This document is a Small Business Preference submittal form for the City of Austin, Texas, related to a solicitation for calcium hypochlorite tablets and granules to support Austin Water treatment operations. The form provides instructions for offerors to voluntarily identify themselves as recognized small businesses to participate in the City's Small Business Preference Procurement Program. Offerors may qualify as either Small Business Primes (businesses that are themselves certified small businesses eligible for full preference) or Small Business Subs (businesses that are not small businesses but subcontract with one or more certified small business subcontractors, requiring combined small business subcontracting values to meet or exceed 5 percent of the total contract amount to receive partial preference). Participation in this program and completion of the form are optional and not required to submit an offer.
The City of Austin recognizes small business certifications that comply with the US Small Business Administration's Small Business Size Standard. Offerors must provide certification details including the certifying entity name, acronym, certification number, and expiration date. The City reserves the right to request additional information to confirm certification status and may contact the certifying entity directly. Misrepresentation of certification status or subcontractor certifications may result in withholding of available preference, disqualification from the resulting contract for intentional errors, or voiding of the contract if discovered after award. Offerors electing to use small business subcontractors must complete an attached Subcontracting Plan with no MBE/WBE goals form.
