About this file

This is a Solicitation Addendum No. 1 issued by the Financial Services Department – Central Procurement for the City of Austin, Texas, regarding Invitation for Bid (IFB) 1500 SDS1002 for the refurbishing and repair of public trash and recycling receptacles. The addendum, dated July 24, 2026, addresses two primary questions from potential offerors regarding project scope and contractor qualifications. The city will provide photographic examples of the receptacles requiring repair to clarify the scope of required repairs. The solicitation requires offerors to possess three years of similar experience and maintain an Austin-area facility; however, this requirement may be satisfied through a disclosed subcontractor that performs the sandblasting, welding, powder-coating, and refurbishment services, provided the subcontractor is identified in the bid response and submits references demonstrating the required minimum three years of relevant experience. The prime contractor remains responsible for overall contract management and performance.

All other terms and conditions of the original solicitation remain unchanged. Offerors must acknowledge receipt of this addendum by signing and returning one copy with their bid response prior to the solicitation closing date, as failure to do so may result in rejection of the offer.
