About this file

This interface control document outlines the electrical interface requirements for connecting an overhead crane switch to an electro-mechanical motion system. It provides details on the customer interface panel and connectors on the EMM system, including that connectors J15-J19 are interfaced to by the user. A DEU-9P-FO male connector is required, and the document specifies the part numbers for the mating connector components. It also lists the pin-out for connectors J15-J19, noting that the user must provide a dry contact across the specified pins, with the overhead crane switch installed at the parked position and normally closed. Opening the contacts when the crane moves will inhibit motion.

The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation for design-build modifications to a C130 simulator building at the Wyoming Air National Guard. Proposed work is between $250,000-$500,000. Quotes are due September 21, 2020 and questions by September 10. A site visit is scheduled for September 1. An entry authority list is required by August 31 for site access.

Overhead Crane Switch to EMM Inhibit Connection Details

Prepared by CAE Inc

21 Mar 2012 2 Rev. -

Introduction This Interface Control Document details the electrical interface for an overhead crane switch to the Electro-Mechanical Motion system (EMM).

EMM System: PS422000075830

EMM System The drawing below illustrates the customer interface panel of the EMM system and the connector identification.

Electrical Connector Details The following section details the interface connectors on the EMM system and the associated mating connector specifications.

Connector J15-J19 Interfaced to by User.

Connector Type: DEU-9P-FO Gender: Male

Mating Connector for J15-J19 The table below lists the components required to build one [1] mating connector.

Item Description Part Number Quantity 1 EMI/RFI Backshell PS424571015156 1 2 9P D-sub PS413903025155 1 3 Male Jackscrew PS413904045156 2 4 Contact Pin PS85492015156 9

Connector Pin-Out for J15-J19 The table below shows the pin-out of the EMM inhibit connectors. The user shall provide a dry-contact (i.e., overhead crane switch) across the pins below. The overhead crane switch can be installed at the parked position and the contacts will be Normally Closed. Once the crane moves from its parked position, the contacts will open, inhibiting motion.
