HSFE02-17-Q-0025--RFQ1226113—PROJECT MANAGEMENT TRAINING 08/22/2017
PROSPECTIVE VENDOR QUESTIONS:
Question: Are the participants planning to complete the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Professional (PMP) certification? If not, what type of Project Management (PM) certification are they working towards and who is the certifying organization?
Answer: Yes, participants will be encouraged to work towards PMP. But that is not a requirement for everyone.
Question: What is the skill level and mix of the training participates (e.g.., number of years, experience, percentage of experience vs non-experienced PMs)?
Answer: Skill levels are a wide range (from no experience to many years.)
Question: Have the participants completed any other Project Management courses recently? If so, what was the type of class, what was the length of the class, when was it taught and by who?
Answer: Some may have, but assume that they have none.
Question: Is there an expectation for the participants to be ready to take the certification after completion of this training program?
Answer: No.
Question: What type of business cases do FEMA Project Managers typically develop?
Answer: Wide range of programs (mitigation, preparedness, recovery and grants) instructors should generalize the content to meet the widest range.
Question: Has any of the participants completed a certification application and/or received an approval to take the exam?
Answer: No, not likely-assume that all participants are new to PM programs.
Question: Is FEMA expecting to take ownership of the training material after developed?
Answer: Uncertain.
Question: Who is the incumbent for this solicitation?
Answer: There is no incumbent.
Question: We saw a course number listed on page 4 of the solicitation with each of the four courses. Do you already have the material for this course and need an instructor? If an organization is providing the material, do you have contact information for that organization?
Answer: No, FEMA does not have the course material.
Question: We also have our own course material that we can provide for each of these classes. Will our own course material satisfy the requirements?
Answer: Must 'crosswalk' the material to ensure that it meets the needs of FEMA.
Question: It appears students are preparing to obtain the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Are these courses intended to give them the contact hours to qualify, or do they need an additional PMP Exam Prep course?
Answer: The courses are needed to prepare employees for project management with potential to achieve PMP certification. FEMA might bid for a prep course at a later date.
