USCGC MAPLE (WLB 207)

FY15 DRYDOCK AVAILABILITY

Amendment 7 QUESTIONS

1. CLIN 9: Twin Pivot Arm Davit, Inspect and Service Para: 3.2 Rask #2

In Amendment 5 question 2 you did not clarify the disassembly that will be required to perform the SSPC 10 on the davit and foundation. As the Coast Guard knows disassembly will require to renew certain parts be replaced. Please clarify the disassembly? Also will the Coast guard furnish all part needed? The spec is for operate and inspect only.

Response:

Submit CFR for work not called out in specification. Contractor shall submit CFR for any parts not provided as GFE.

2. CLIN 10: Buoy Crane Preservation Para No. 3.2 Task# 2 & 24

In the 3.2 Task# 2 it states to “preserve” boom assembly and turret assembly, but in 3.2 Task# 24 it states to “partially preserve” the boom and turret.

Please clarify what surfaces are to be preserved, and which are to be partially preserved.

Response:

Contractor shall partially preserve Buoy Crane boom assembly and turret assembly.

“Partial Preservation”: Surface preparation and coating application accomplished for up to 33% of a ship component (e.g., tank, u/w body, freeboard, main deck, grid cooler, crane, davit, etc...). This may also include an additional finish coat over 100% of the component - for aesthetic purpose. In-process QC measures are applicable for partial preservation of surfaces defined as "critical-coated surfaces" [see paragraph 3.2.4.2 (In-process QC measures for “critical-coated surfaces”) of SFLC Std Spec 0000].
