About this file
This Broad Agency Announcement from the Defense Threat Reduction Agency seeks white papers and proposals from public and private research institutions to conduct strategic analytic research under the Strategic Trends Research Initiative. Research is sought across two thrust areas related to emerging threats within the Agency's mission space to characterize the future battlespace and inform DTRA and Department of Defense operations over the next five to ten years. Research methodologies may involve strategic dialogues or tabletop exercises to answer specified questions, with the expected output being analytic reports analyzing findings to advance scientific and technical knowledge. The Agency will provide guidance throughout awarded projects to ensure research meets needs. Submissions will be independently produced deliverables designed to identify and answer research questions using the applicant's proposed methodology.

SUBJECT: October 4 Research Topic Information Session Postponed Due to Anticipated Government Shutdown.
This amendment is being provided in anticipation of a potential “Government Shutdown” on midnight, 30 September 2023.
Because of the uncertainty surrounding successful conclusion of appropriations debates and our return-to-work timeline, we are postponing the 4 October 2023 Research Topic Information Session (RTIS) and will provide an updated notice as soon as we are able to reschedule this event. Event registration will remain open in the meantime. Along with rescheduling the RTIS, we will adjust the submission deadline for white papers.
You may continue to submit correspondence and white papers to the respective Strategic Trends Research Initiative mailboxes and we will address those upon return to the office.
Thrust Area 1: Dialogues dtra.belvoir.si.mbx.hdtra1-stri-ta1@mail.mil Thrust Area 2: Studies dtra.belvoir.si.mbx.hdtra1-stri-ta2@mail.mil Administrative correspondence and questions/RTIS Registration: dtra.belvoir.si.mbx.hdtra1-stri-adm@mail.mil
Our furlough status will prevent general correspondence and processing of white papers/proposals. We anticipate responding to everything you submit in a sequence matching the order in which correspondence was received.
