Answer: One contract is required.

105. Question: Currently, the walls are not to be painted. The gauge of the existing carpet tile is higher than what will be installed. We conclude this by the specifications on the solicitation. The new carpet tile will drop slightly. Due to this small detail, the wall base should be specified at 4 ½” in height to avoid any unsightly perimeter adhesive or unpainted walls. Please confirm preference. (If 4” is the preference, we advise consideration of a contingency for painting all perimeter walls).

Answer: Concur that wall cove base may need to be 4-1/2" to 5” in height to cover the removed wall base area. Wall painting is not included in this project as DISA cannot do construction work in our contracts and Painting is considered a construction task per the Federal Acquisition Regulations. Touch -up painting, up to 100 sq ft can be accomplished and may be necessary to repair wall surfaces that may have been damaged by the carpet and/or wall base removal, per PWS Task 3, paragraph 6.3.1.

Opt 2: The Carpet Tile specified be available in Rolls/Broadloom. Opt 3: Select a Roll/Broadloom in a different color. Please advise on preference.

B) Will demo of floors be part of the Flooring Sub’s responsibility? Please advise.
