Questions & Answers

HC1028-14-R-0019- Global IO&T

155. Is the only warehouse currently being utilized by DISA truly 4400 sf or is this an error?

ANSWER: It is not an error, the space allocated for FF&E storage is 4,400SF

156. If existing furniture from the warehouse is utilized will new warehouse stock be ordered or is the goal to have zero surplus in the warehouse?

ANSWER: Our goal is to reutilize as much product as possible. Due to the constant changes in space requirements, there will always be stock product in the warehouse.

157. Is the warehouse plan to keep enough of specific ff&e so that any immediate needs can be met to outfit a specific number of offices?

ANSWER: The warehouse plan is to store product in good condition and under warranty that is not being used.

158. Is the goal to maximize reuse of existing ff&e or to purchase new? What is the determining factor?

ANSWER: The primary goal is to reuse as much existing product as possible. If the needs cannot be met with the stock product, new product is ordered. The determine factors are the condition of the existing product, the life expectancy of the product, and cost.

159. Who determines what is warehoused?

ANSWER: This is determined by the COR.

160. It appears that the stated edge detail limits competition greatly and is designed for one manufacturer. What is the reason for the pre form edge requirement and are you aware that this requirement will virtually eliminate competition?

ANSWER: The requirement specifies post form edge not pre form edge. The reason for this requirement is that we have found that this type of edge protects the laminate top and reduces its failure. It is not DISA’s intention to eliminate the competition for that reason we will also accept eased edges and knife edges.

161. Reference #16, Privacy Screen: Original specs call this out as a "Panel mounted privacy screen, 12-18"High".

Question submitted requested the required width for the item. Answer provided indicated that the item was

"48" wide by 60"H. Shall be on casters." - this description no longer describes a panel-mounted screen, but a freestanding one. Please confirm what's wanted and revise the technical spec sheet to indicate the correct product information so we can assure we're all on the same page with what's being priced.

ANSWER: The item description was changed to a mobile privacy screen on casters. 48”W x 60”w.

162. Reference #8 - not sure that the information provided helps clarify everything. How is more than one keyboard tray going to be utilized if the size of the unit is only 42"W? Also, are two separate monitor arms needed, or would one monitor arm with the ability to support two separate monitors be acceptable?

ANSWER: Reference #8 only requires 1 key-board tray. Reference #8 requires arms for 4 monitors. All combinations of monitor arms capable of holding 4 monitors (1-4, 2-2, 1-3+1-1) are acceptable.

163. Reference #67 - Q&A said specs were added to Appendix B, but Appendix B only went up to Reference #59.

Can this info please be provided?

ANSWER: There was an error in transferring the file into PDS, a correct file will be posted shortly.

164. Additional items mentioned in Q&A that were going to have updated information included in Appendix B:

Item #92, Item #183, Items #194-#200, Item #203, Item #210, Item #215. Can updated spec sheets please be provided for these items?

ANSWER: There was an error in transferring the file into PDS, a correct file will be posted shortly.

165. Question #101 pertaining to Reference #33, the answer states to, "please reference answer to question number

83," Question #83 is unrelated to Reference #33. Please clarify what the specifications need to be for the nesting tables.

ANSWER: Reference #33 was updated.

166. Reference #36 - No height specified. Please confirm height should be 29", just like Reference #35. If so, that would mean the only thing that's different between these two items is that Reference #35 is wood laminate and

Reference #36 is wood veneer.

ANSWER: The height shall be 29”. The width of Reference #35 was adjusted to 60”.
