About this file

This document is a hazardous waste removal guidance document for Escambia County, Florida's Environmental Enforcement solicitation for cleanups and demolitions. The file provides specific instructions to potential contractors about managing and removing hazardous materials during project work, emphasizing the importance of safely handling used oil barrels, hazardous waste, and potential environmental contamination. Contractors are instructed to include hazardous waste removal costs within their bid submissions and to plan for comprehensive material extraction and ground cleanup to prevent accidental spills or environmental damage.

The document includes two local hazardous waste removal companies as potential resources: Aaron Oil Company in Saraland, AL, and Safety-Kleen in Mobile, AL, with their respective contact information. While no specific pricing structure or precise bid requirements are outlined, the guidance suggests that hazardous waste removal costs should be integrated into overall project bids. HAZARDOUS WASTE COMPLIANCE AND ENFORCEMENT

ENVIRONMENTAL ENFORCEMENT

In the process of our cleanups or demolitions, if you come across barrels of used oil, or any other type of hazardous materials or waste, please plan on using a company that can safely remove the materials from the property that you are working on. The cost of removal should be included in your bids.

We are trying to avoid any accidental spills. For instance, an old barrel full of oil, may come apart in the process of being moved, and we could have a much larger environmental problem, than we started with.

Also, there may already be leakage or spillage onto the ground around the barrels to be removed. That may also need to be properly cleaned up.

Local companies that can remove hazardous waste:

Aaron Oil Company 713 Bill Myles Dr.

Saraland, AL 36571 251-479-1616

Safety – Kleen 3022 Dial Street Mobile, AL 36612 251-456-3042 Thank you for your compliance & consideration
