About this file

This document outlines requirements for a stewardship contract to provide Giant Sequoia Emergency Response services on National Forest lands in California. Multiple awards will be made to complete hand and mechanical fuels reduction treatments across several Giant Sequoia groves. Treatments will include hand falling, piling, mechanical cutting, skidding, decking, and removal of forest fuels. One grove will require helicopter fuels removal. Mandatory product removal of 50,919 tons of mixed conifer timber is required from three groves. A pre-solicitation meeting will be held on October 19th at multiple locations. The Request for Quotes is expected to be issued on October 17th and awarded using best value with a firm fixed price commercial services contract. The period of performance is through December 31st, 2023. The Forest Service will administer the contract across Sequoia and Sierra National Forest lands.
