About this file

This pre-solicitation notice outlines a stewardship contract opportunity for fuels management services across several national forests in California. The Forest Service seeks to award multiple contracts to complete hazardous fuels reduction treatments in Giant Sequoia groves through a combination of mechanical operations, hand crews, and prescribed burns. Mandatory work includes cutting, skidding, decks, and removing timber fuels from nine treatment areas, with an estimated 50,919 tons of mixed conifer products to be removed. Optional work includes transporting surplus timber products and preparing control lines for prescribed burns. The period of performance is from award date through December 31, 2023. Pre-bid site visits will be held on October 19th, 20th, 26th, and 27th for prospective contractors to discuss operational requirements. The request for quotes is anticipated for release on October 17th, with contracts to be awarded as firm fixed price using best value selection.
