About this file
This document is the Government Acceptance Test (GAT) Procedures for a curved screen flight simulator. The GAT outlines a series of 29 verification steps to ensure the screen meets the technical requirements specified in the Performance Work Statement (PWS), such as viewing angles, screen movement, blending light sources, and software compatibility.
The related federal contract opportunity is for a "Flight Simulator Curved Screen" with a CLIN 0001 description of providing the screen in accordance with the PWS. The contract is being competed by the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center. The requirement has a delivery timeframe of not to exceed 26 weeks after receipt of order. Offerors must be registered in SAM, have a passing NIST SP 800-171 assessment, and submit quotations that conform to all solicitation requirements to be considered for the award.

Inspect the visual display screen and confirm that the screen is cylindrical with no deformities.
The custom screen is in the shape of a cylinder with no joints or fillers.
2 3.2.3.2.1a Verify the screen has a 180-degree horizontal viewing angle via inspection of technical drawings.
The screen has 180-degree horizontal viewing angle from design eye point.
3 3.2.3.2.1b Verify the physical screen matches the technical drawing in this regard. Drawing matches physical implementation.
4 3.2.3.2.2a Verify the screen has a 25-degree upward viewing from design eye point via inspection of technical drawings
The screen has a 25-degree upward viewing angle from design eye point.
5 3.2.3.2.2b Verify the physical screen matches the technical drawing in this regard. Drawing matches physical implementation.
6 3.2.3.2.3a Verify the screen has a 15-degree downward viewing from design eye point via inspection of technical drawings
Screen has a 15-degree downward viewing from design eye point via inspection of technical drawings
7 3.2.3.2.3b Verify the physical screen matches the technical drawing in this regard. Drawing matches physical implementation.
8 3.2.3.2.4 Verify the screen can resist movement. Press frame and make sure it doesn't move easily.
Ensure frame is sturdy and resists movement
9 3.2.3.2.6
Verify a black space around the reflective area to absorb projector over scan.
There is a black bezel area.
3.2.3.3 / 3.2.3.3.2 /
3.2.3.3.5
Verify there is a automated shutter control and associated blinders for blending light sources. USAF representative shall take view out of calibration and have Contractor demonstrate it can be recalibrated.
Screen automatically recalibrates once procedure is intitated.
11 3.2.3.3.1
Verify the Automated Shutter control prevents bright banding while transition from Day to Night and Night to Day. Image generation will be set to different times to test.
There is no bright banding before or after transitions.
12 3.2.3.4a
Verify that no addional tools other than that was delivered will be required for calibration during calibration.
All tools and software required are included
Using the Quantum 3D Image Generator, display the “Uniform White” test pattern.
All display channels are showing an all white pattern.
Using the IG interface, apply the “Mapped Dot Pattern” on each visual channel.
To confirm the visual has been calibrated geometrically, inspect the pattern for geometric alignment between the projectors.
The test pattern has been warped to provide a seamless display with no misregistration in the overlap areas.
Using the IG interface, apply the “Uniform Field” test pattern at 100% brightness to all visual display channels.
The Green and Magenta lines are corretly over-laid creating white
To confirm the visual has been calibrated in color and intensity, inspect the visual for any distracting differences in color or luminance between each channel.
Project color bands of different colors that extend across multiple
No distracting color or luminance differences are observed.
17 3.2.3.4b
Verify all software delivered is activated without experiation date. All software delivered is activated without experiation date.
18 3.2.4.1
Verify all hardware was delivered as new unless prior authorization was granted.
All items where new prior to install.
