About this file
This is a Work Write-Up document prepared by the City of Jackson Community Development Department for a housing rehabilitation project located at 115 W Euclid Avenue, Jackson, Michigan 49203, for homeowner Rickey Parris. The project encompasses two primary work scopes: roof stripping and replacement (R05) and gutterwork installation (G08). The roofing work requires removal of existing shingles and felt, repair of roof framing as needed, installation of 7/16" oriented-strand board sheathing, ice shield at lower roof edges extending 24" inside the interior surface, 15% asphalt saturated felt, and new architectural-style roofing material with metal drip and rake edging. The project includes approximately 22 roofing squares across all elevations, including a carport, with an estimated 100 square feet of decking repair. The gutterwork scope calls for furnishing and installing gutter and downspout systems using baked pre-enameled aluminum 5-inch K-type in standard colors, with a minimum thickness of .027 inches, hangers spaced no more than 30 inches on center, and all downspouts to be commercial size. The work write-up was prepared on November 25, 2025, and requires a building permit for the roofing work. Final measurements and quantities for linear footage of gutter and downspout remain to be determined by the contractor.
The document specifies that the scope of work is contingent upon the owner's acceptance and the contractor's agreement to perform all work in accordance with their submitted bid. Pricing and cost information are not included in this work write-up document; however, the document provides a framework for contractors to reference specific materials, finishes, and installation standards required for completion. All work must conform to the Michigan Building Code and referenced specifications (G.S. 1 for roofing and G.S. 4a for gutterwork). The project is part of the City of Jackson's sealed, competitive bid process for its Community Development Department housing rehabilitation program, which serves qualified homeowners in the city.
