About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for an Audio Video Solution solicitation (FY25-0012388591) for the Washington National Guard's WRCTC classroom at Camp Murray, Washington.
The Q&A clarifies critical technical and installation requirements for the AV system redesign. Key specifications include: replacement of existing projectors with native 4K or better resolution (approximately 14-foot throw distance); reuse of existing projection screens (front screens 86"H x 139"W, rear screen 57"H x 92"W) controlled via Crestron (TSW-760); maximum-sized side-wall displays mounted on extendable articulating arms in the middle of walls between windows, with one display per side wall; two independent zones splitting the room front-to-back for both video and audio; reuse of existing 12 ceiling speakers with ability to create two speaker zones; support for two PC input sources (one front, one rear) each with HDMI and USB inputs; wireless lapel microphones for instructors (minimum two units, not included in bid); support for one camera (not included in bid) for video conferencing; and HDMI to USB conversion at input plates. The existing rack in the back closet may be reused if compatible or replaced if needed. Existing functional cabling may be repurposed. The government will not specify equipment brands but requires compatibility with SOO requirements and essential characteristics. A site visit is scheduled for March 4, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific time, with attendance coordination required by February 25, 2026. All questions must be submitted in writing to the Contracting Officer with responses due by March 9, 2026.

A/V Solution (WRCTC) – Washington National Guard Questions & Answers
Q1: As part of the scope of work, is the intent to replace the existing installed projectors in this room?
A1: Yes
Q2: Where any existing cabling can be repurposed or reutilized (in other words, where it is already going to the correct location but it’s functional usage may change with the new hardware), is it allowed to do so or is the intent to replace all existing cabling as well?
A2: You can use cabling present.
Q3: Can pictures of the WRCTC Classroom be provided to understand the environment better?
A3: See attached.
Q4: Can pictures of the front and rear projection screen that are to be reused please be provided?
A4: See attached.
Q5: What is the ceiling height in the room as I do not see that dimension detailed on the floor plan?
A5: 20 feet
Q6: What type of ceiling is in the space? (i.e. 2x2 tile, hard ceiling, other) A6: 2x2 tile
Q7: What material are the walls made of? (i.e. drywall, concrete, concrete block, other) A7: Drywall
Q8: Where is it preferred that the side displays be mounted? Where the outlets on the side of the room are detailed in the floorplan or some other location?
A8: Middle of the walls, avoiding windows. Vendor can help decide best placement.
Q9: Is there a preferred size for each of the side displays, or just whatever size display will fit between the windows on each side?
A9: Maximum size that will fit.
Q10: Would you like the side displays mounted on extendable articulating mounts to allow for added range of viewing?
A10: Yes
Q11: Can the lights on the side of the room that are located where a side display be removed and a blank plate placed over the location to allow for a display to sit flush against the wall?
A11: Yes, if the vendor needs to remove a light to mount displays that is fine.
Q12: For the two pc input sources, are they to be provided on wall plates in the front and rear of the room, or in some other location?
A12: Yes, front and rear of the room.
Q13: Are any cameras required to be supported in the system for use with solutions such as MS Teams or other web conferencing systems?
A13: Yes, cameras should be supported, but cameras are not part of the bid.
Q14: Can a complete list of existing equipment that is supposed to be reused please be provided with model numbers?
A14: The only thing that must be reused are the project screens.
Q15: How many existing ceiling speakers need to be reused and integrated into the new AV system?
A15: 12
Q16: How many table-top portable wireless microphones for students must be supported in the system? Are all of these existing, or does a new wireless microphone system need to be provided?
A16: The microphones are not part of this bid.
Q17: Where would the customer like the wireless touch panel controller mounted (i.e. wall mount, on a stand with the rack, other)?
A17: On a podium that exists in the front of the room.
Q18: Are any type of AV connections required to be supported in any of the floor boxes throughout the room?
A18: No
Q19: Would the customer like the option for wireless content sharing capability in the room?
A19: No
Q20: IF the projectors are to be replaced under the scope of work, do they need to have a native 4K resolution or simply support that resolution (for instance, through 4K enhancement on a WUXGA projector)?
A20: Native 4K or better
Q21: What is the requirement for the Instructor microphone(s). How many? Wireless or wired?
A21: Wireless microphones for the instructors, with at least two.
Q22: What is the audio interface of the potable microphone system and where in the room should it be connected?
A22: It should be connected in the back. The “interface” can be vendor provided solution. Microphones are not a hard requirement for this bid.
Q23: Are there two speaker zones. Looking at the pictures the speakers seem to be wired as one.
A23: One zone currently. We would like the ability to create two zones.
Q24: The specification mentions a minimum of one display per wall. Is there a reason why more might be preferred and would they show the same image?
A24: They will show the same image. More displays would detract from the lighting and windows. One display per side wall is requested. The front and back already have projector screens.
Q25: Please clarify how many inputs are required for the system. Is it two at the front and two at the back?
A25: One in the front, one in the back.
Q26: What form of USB inputs is needed and is power delivery required?
A26: Totally up to vendor discretion. Power deliver is not required for any external USB device.
Q27: The requirement for the side displays is to be the maximum size possible. Can you provide the dimension from the top of the windows to the ceiling? It’s hard to be precise from the picture.
A27: 69 inches
Q28: If the projector screens are to be reused:
Q28-1. What are their dimensions?
Q28-2. Are they electric?
Q28-3 If so are they to be managed from the control system?

Q30: If reused, can we provide a rack and swap?
A30: Yes
Q26: Where in the room is the rack located?
A26: In the back closet

A33: lapel microphone
Q34: Please specify whether all displays need to be able to switch independently or whether they will be grouped and controlled together?
