About this file
This is a specification document for the Fontana Unified School District's Bid No. 25/26-0045 for Portable Buildings - Maintenance & Repairs. The District seeks contractors to provide comprehensive maintenance and repair services for its portable building infrastructure across 45 school sites serving approximately 32,000 students in San Bernardino County, California. The specifications detail extensive architectural, mechanical, and electrical requirements covering exterior siding repairs using T-111 siding material, structural metal stud framing, rough carpentry, building insulation, metal roof and wall panels, gypsum board installation, vinyl composition tile flooring, painting, plumbing fixtures and piping, and low-voltage electrical wiring. Sealed bids are due no later than 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, through the District's procurement portal. The resulting contract will have an initial term of one year with options for four (4) additional years, not to exceed five (5) years total.
The District estimates annual costs for portable building maintenance and repairs may reach up to $1,500,000, though this figure is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute a guarantee or binding commitment. The specifications establish detailed quality assurance requirements, including compliance with California Building Code standards, mandatory material submittals, sample testing, and work performed under supervision of certified professionals. The work encompasses repairs to existing portable structures with emphasis on maintaining uniformity and consistency across all District facilities through adherence to specified materials, finishes, and installation methods. The specifications indicate that the contract will be awarded to the successful bidder(s) following evaluation of sealed bids, with the District retaining discretion over contract terms and contractor selection.
