The Interim 39-foot Midnight Express Intercep-tor vessel provides maritime interdiction capabil-ities for CBP’s Air and Marine Operations (AMO). These vessels fill operational gaps at marine units until the next-generation Coastal Interceptor Vessel is ready to deploy.

Marine interdiction agents (MIA) operate the

Midnight Express in offshore coastal waters to combat maritime smuggling. The vessel provides agents with additional speed, maneuverability and a greater range to perform their duties and missions.

The Midnight Express 3-person (minimum) crew work together with AMO aviation assets and other federal, state and local law enforcement entities to accomplish the homeland security mission.
