Pre-award Questions & Answers Sheet
Question Government Response Does the Government know if any of the suppression reports indicate there have been any discrepancies or system failures on any of the suppression systems within the past year? None regarding the hood and duct systems.
Is the Government aware of which CO2/nitrogen bottles are currently being used on each system? See the table below.
Does the Government have copies of the original site plan (equipment /nozzle placement) when the kitchen was designed and implemented, if so can we get copies of those? We do not have the original information on these.
Can the Government confirm that the hydrotesting should be a 12 year instead of a 14-year interval? According to the Ansul guidance, it indicates it should be a 12 year.
Correct. Based on existing trackers for Hydro testing, all the kitchens are 12 yrs and HazMat areas have a 6-yr due and 12-yr Hydro. The government could not locate the 14-year reference but if found, it should be "12-year.
During the site visit, the FD stated that we would not be servicing any of the HazMat areas. Can you confirm this is true? They are listed on Appendix A - On-Base Kitchen Hood Fire Suppression Systems section listed as - Bldg 935, Bldg 936, Bldg 938, Bldg 939, Bldg 940, Bldg 941, and Bldg 947. In addition to that if these are serviceable, what additional requirements would we need to meet to service those areas.
This was stated incorrectly. These buildings are included on the work in accordance with the 30 Jul 24 PWS and schedule and are still expected to be done as part of this work. There are no additional requirements needed to maintain them.
What is the process to bring nitrogen/CO2 bottles and fire suppressant liquid onto the base for recharge/12-year maintenance?
Depending on the vehicle size, and the SFS personnel working at the gate, the contractor might have go through the search pit at gate 5. With a contractor badges/base access, and company signage on the vehicle, there isnt an issue with going through other gates.
