About this file
This is a Professional Services Supplemental document for an Invitation for Bids (IFB) issued by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) for the Farm to School Food Hub Aggregation contract. The procurement seeks a successful bidder to serve as a centralized sourcing, procurement, and distribution entity for unprocessed or minimally processed local food products to Local Education Agencies (LEAs) participating in the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program. The document establishes professional services requirements and supplemental terms governing how the contractor will manage food sourcing, aggregation, and distribution operations to support farm-to-school initiatives across participating Maryland school districts.
The supplemental document outlines professional services specifications, operational standards, and contractual requirements that the selected bidder must meet to effectively manage the food hub aggregation function. Key provisions address service delivery expectations, quality assurance standards, reporting requirements, and performance metrics that ensure the contractor successfully connects local food producers with participating LEAs. The document serves as a binding addendum to the primary IFB, clarifying roles, responsibilities, and professional standards required for contract performance, while ensuring that the selected vendor possesses the capability to manage complex supply chain operations across multiple school districts within Maryland's education system.
