About this file

This document is an Appendix containing abbreviations and definitions for an Invitation for Bids (IFB R00B4600179) issued by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE). The IFB seeks to procure goods and services for the Farm to School Food Hub Aggregation program, which will involve centralized sourcing, procurement, and distribution of unprocessed or minimally processed local food to Local Education Agencies (LEAs) participating in the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program. As an appendix focused on terminology, this document establishes standardized definitions and abbreviations used throughout the bid documentation to ensure consistent interpretation and communication among bidders, MSDE, and participating LEAs.

The abbreviations and definitions provided in this appendix serve as reference material to clarify terminology and acronyms that appear in the IFB specifications and requirements. This foundational document is essential for bidders to accurately understand and respond to the solicitation requirements. By defining key terms upfront, the appendix reduces ambiguity and ensures that all bidders interpret the contract specifications uniformly, thereby promoting fair competition and clear contractual obligations between MSDE and the successful bidder(s).
