About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document from a federal contract procurement related to access control systems for government buildings.
The Government has established firm requirements regarding the access control platform for this acquisition. Specifically, the Government will not consider "or equal" alternatives or substitute access control platforms, nor will it accept a phased approach that would preserve existing Velocity systems in some buildings while allowing alternate platforms elsewhere. Interested vendors are directed to contact Hirsch directly for a list of currently authorized Hirsch/Identiv dealers. The Government declined to extend the response deadline to accommodate additional time for vendors to identify and partner with authorized distributors. Additionally, due to end-of-fiscal-year timeline constraints, no site visit will be offered for this acquisition, requiring vendors to develop proposals without the opportunity to conduct on-site assessments of the buildings covered by the requirement.

Text version
Q. Would the Government consider an "or equal" or alternate access control platform for the buildings covered by this requirement, or a phased approach that preserves Velocity where it already exists while permitting an alternate platform elsewhere?
A. The government will not consider an “or equal” platform.
Q. If the brand-name restriction must stand, would the Government be able to provide a list of currently authorized Hirsch/Identiv dealers, or direct interested small businesses to the manufacturer's channel contact?
A. Please reach out directly to Hirsch for a list of currently authorized dealers.
Q. Would the Government consider extending the response deadline to allow additional time to identify and team with an authorized vendor?
A. At this time, the response deadline extension cannot be accommodated.
Q. Will there be a site visit or has one already been completed?
A. Unfortunately due to end of fiscal year timeline requirements, a site visit will not be offered for this acquisition.
