RFI- 7.17.2019
Questions:
- What is the layout inside the container to look like? All 5 pumps on a frame with wheels so it’s mobile, but all 5 in a row like an assembly line?
- Is PVC pipe is ok or if they want/need steel pipping? Like schedule 10? Morris Coupling?
- Find out if they have a “take off” of the piping they are wanting to hook the vacuums up to?
- If the owners do not have a take off for the piping do they have a drawing with dimensions on it so we can get an idea of how much pipe we need? If they have no idea, we will most definitely have to make a site visit to gather that information.
Answers:
1. Pump layout and mounting (skids, etc) shall facilitate individual removal of each pump system from the container. That is, use separate footers/skid/casters vs. one common skid for multiple pumps.
1. Process air connections (vacuum lines, inlet/exhaust headers) that are internal to the container must rated for continuous duty at vacuum but need not be comprised of steel pipe if another material is suitable. Only the final mating interface to AEDC equipment is explicitly specified (3.1.13).
1. External to the container, the final interface to the vacuum sphere will be via an ASME/ANSI B16.5 150#-class flange (cited in 3.1.13). AEDC will provide the necessary interface between the sphere and this flange. The vendor responsibility is limited to this inlet flange and the common vacuum header isolation valve (cited in 3.1.15). The outer side of the isolation valve itself may provide the required flanged interface to AEDC equipment.
1. Potential vendors may request a site visit.
