Alter Building 3 for Extreme Computing Facility
FA8751-19-B-A001
Q&A Part 4
Q1. On drawing E501, Detail 5, Note 3, a ground bus that is ¼”x2” of continuous copper has to be securely mounted to the side of the cable tray system every 15.” Could I see a detail on how that should be done and with the specific hardware the engineer would like to be used to mount the copper bus to the cable tray?
A1. The contractor will need to bid the project as they see it now as detailed on the drawings and in the specs. Further mounting can be discussed with successful bidder.
Q2. It does not seem that the demolition scope provides for any exterior wall removal beyond the locations at the louver openings. Ref. Dwg. S-502, it does show a garage door, please verify size of door. We would need full depth wall removal to get our steel and equipment into the building.
The other issue would be the venting of propane exhaust gases for our carry deck crane.
A2. Overhead door opening is 7'-3"x11''-0" (w x h). Any alterations to the building not called for in the project documentation will need to be restored to original conditions.
Q3. 230713-10 3.8 Calls for 3# Mineral Fiber Blanket on concealed duct. 3# is not made. The highest density Blanket made is 1 1/2#. Can we use 1 1/2# Blanket on the concealed duct?
A3. 1 ½ lb/cu.ft fiber blanket is acceptable for the concealed ductwork.
Q4. Is the duct in the Mezzanine considered Exposed or Concealed?
A4. The Mezzanine area is considered exposed.
Q5. Is the use of propane equipment inside this project area allowed?
A5. Use of propane equipment is allowed in the project area as long as OSHA regulations are not violated.
