About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document issued by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) on 5 May 2026 regarding a Power Distribution Unit (PDU) relocation project in Building 10271 at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.
The document addresses seven technical inquiries from a prospective contractor concerning the PDU relocation work. Key clarifications provided include: floor plans and photos of Rooms 134 and 128A are attached for logistical planning; the raised floor flooring system can support the rolling load of the PDU; final power cutover will occur during standard business hours; the existing stand will be reused with PDU 9 in the new location while PDU 28 and its stand will be removed and stored; contractor personnel will receive full-time security escorts rather than requiring unescorted base-level badging; existing power tails from PDU 28 will be uninstalled and terminated in PDU 9, with the government clarifying that material insufficiency is unlikely; and the government will collect all wiring and metal debris for recycling, eliminating contractor responsibility for off-site disposal. The Contracting Officer for this effort is Curtis V. Thomas III, AFLCMC/PZIBB, located at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH 45433.

QUESTIONS
Inquiry One (1): Following our review of the PWS for the PDU relocation in Building 10271, we have the following technical inquiries to ensure an accurate quote: (ANSWERS IN RED)
• Documentation: Can you please provide floor plans or photos of Rooms 134 and 128A available for logistical planning? -ATTACHED.
• Path of Travel: Are there specific weight restrictions for the raised floor tiles along the move path?
The flooring system can support the rolling load of the PDU.
• Work Hours: Is the final power cutover required after-hours/weekends, or during standard business hours? During business hours
• Equipment: If the existing stand in 128A is incompatible with PDU 9, is the contractor responsible for procurement or will the government provide a new one? The existing stand where PDU 9 currently sits will be reused in the new location. PDU 28 and its stand will be removed and placed in storage.
• Access: Will the crew have a full-time security escort, or is unescorted base-level badging required?
Vendor will be escorted for the duration of the work.
• Cabling: Is the contractor responsible for new cabling/terminations if existing tails are insufficient?
Existing power tails will be uninstalled from PDU 28, then terminated in PDU 9. It’s unclear how material at the site would be insufficient.
• Disposal: Is the contractor responsible for off-site disposal of old wiring and debris? No. All wiring
/metal will be collected by base personnel and turned in to recycling center.
