Grease Hoods and Duck Cleaning Questions and Answers 11/2/23

Q) Are you able to provide approximate measurements for the Hoods & Ducts?

A) Our office does not have measurements for the grease hoods and ducts. The only information that we have, I provided it in the PWS, it lists out the number of filters for each hood. Generally, the larger number of filters that are used the bigger the hood system is.

Q) When was the last time these were serviced?

A) Appendix 1 (Workload Data) of the PWS list out approximately the last time each hood system was cleaned. All the systems have been cleaned on the intervals described except for building 20489. A few facilities cleaning, varies by a month or two from the schedule due to covid. On the new contract we will be getting back on track and each hood will be cleaned in the month that is give in Appendix 1. Building 20489 is in the process of removing the old equipment and purchasing all new equipment. At this time, our office does not have any information on the size of system that will be placed the museum (building 20489).

Q) Are there any cleaning certifications required?

A) Yes there are. Please see paragraph 1.1 of the PWS and Evaluation Factor 1 on Attachments 2 and 3.

Q) When will funds be made available for this effort?

A) funds are earmarked for this effort and will be made available once all offers are reviewed and a price is finalized.

Q) Could you please verify the address of the main building or where the cleanings will take place?

A) There are multiple locations on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Please see Appendix A of the PWS for a list of them all.

Q) Where will the site visit be held?

A) We will meet at the Hope Hotel (10823 Chidlaw Rd, Dayton, OH 45433). Use the rear parking lot and enter the Conference Center Lobby (Not the main lobby). We will have a brief introduction meeting and sign in. We will then board a bus which will drive us around base to look at the majority of the sites. The Hope Hotel is technically not on base so you will not be required to drive through a security check point. The entrance is adjacent to a checkpoint so it may appear as though you are in line to go though security, but there is a turn off before the armed guards.
