About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document from a site visit conducted on March 10, 2026, for solicitation FA857126Q0050 regarding temporary air conditioning for Building 185 at Robins Air Force Base. The document addresses contractor inquiries about facility conditions and requirements for leasing and installing a 40-ton AC unit to support the Conformal Fuel Tank shop.

Key clarifications from the Q&A include: the roll-up doors remain closed except when moving assets, requiring a platform for ductwork passage; a single 100-amp power source is available via a disconnect serving the building; temporary AC units may be placed on trailers parked on grass areas if vehicle traffic is not obstructed; the building measures approximately 7,500 square feet with 25-foot walls and a 34-foot peak (based on drawings, not actual measurements); and the platform location sits on a slope with details provided in attached photographs. The government notes these measurements are preliminary estimates. Any additional questions must be submitted by end of business March 16, 2026, establishing the deadline for contractor clarifications before proposal submission.

Temporary AC for B185 Questions and Answers

How often do the doors of B185 stay open? The roll up doors are only open when assets are being moved in and out of the building. A platform will be built for the ductwork to pass through and allow the door on the west side to stay closed.

Is there any other power source? – Some companies expressed concern is the Amps available. This is the only source of power. It’s a 100A breaker serving the disconnect.

For the placement of the AC, what kind of platforms are allowed vs. not allowed? If on a trailer, can it be parked on the grass area? If the trailer will fit on the grass area and not block vehicle traffic, that will be fine.

What is the square footage of the building? Ceiling height, wall height? Our record drawings indicate that the building is around 7500 sf. The height of the wall is about 25’ and the peak is about 34’. NOTE: These are based off of drawings and not actual measurements of the building.

What is the slope the platform will be located on? See attached pictures.

Any further questions in response to this solicitation would need to be submitted by end of day 16 March 2026.
