Estimated quantities of Class A deicers are 34 units and Class B deicers are 23 units over the six year period. The contract will have a two year basic period and four option years and be awarded on a firm fixed price basis.

Solicitation Questions & Answers 1

1. QUESTION: Is there a requirement for Aircraft DEICE Fluids CONTAINMENT? Is the deicing fluid stored on the deicer truck?
ANSWER: YES. The Commercial Item Description (CID) A-A-59145D, June 8 2020, and CID Revision Page 1, 10 July 2020 identifies the requirement. CID paragraphs 3.22, 3.22.1, 3.22.2, 3.22.3, 3.22.4, and 3.23 explains and defines how the deicer fluid will be stored/handled/contained.
2. QUESTION: Is there a requirement for cleanup of deicing fluid after it is sprayed due to environmental issues? How is this performed?
ANSWER: NO, it is a different vehicle, the glycol recovery truck, reference Glycol Recovery Truck - 3825-01-584-7127.
