DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
Corrosion Assessment and Treatment Recommendations
Sample Task Order 4
1.0 PURPOSE
The purpose of this task is to provide USAF a corrosion assessment and mitigation plan for the MHU-196 and MHU-204 for depot overhaul purposes.
2.0 STATEMENT OF WORK
2.1 Monthly Status Reports: The Contractor shall supply monthly status reports per 4.18 to support this effort, and shall project timelines to support described efforts. The Contractor shall fully document and explain proposed methodology(ies), and final delivery/product/result(s)/etc., due to efforts required herein. The contractor shall exhaustively seek to ensure that Government tasks/deliverables are correctly understood, and fully executed to satisfy AFLCMC/WNZEA requirements.
2.2 In accordance with 4.3 and 4.3.2 (as specifically related to corrosion) of the PWS the Contractor shall provide the Program Management Office (PMO) with a full understanding of the amount of corrosion across the MHU-196 and MHU-204 fleets and provide recommendations for corrosion repair and treatment methods while the trailer is in depot. The assessment shall be performed on all primary structure(s).
Additionally, the Contractor shall assess the impact on the life of the trailer for corrosion noted on non-structural items. The Contractor shall identify and recommend corrosion protection methods to be applied during the trailer overhaul. The recommendations shall include recommendations for specialty tooling and requirements given the process and the trailer size/geometry. The assessment of corrosion protection methods shall include an analysis of the approach that is currently in discussion at the overhaul facility. This will require assessing on-hand equipment at Air Force Bases (see 3.0), at various geographical locations, if required by the Government.
2.3 Upon task completion, the Contractor shall provide a statement of work (or a series of statement of work, depending on needs, the extent of damage, various subsystem equipment, etc.) per 4.12 of the PWS, including on all steps and order of actions necessary to support and successfully complete system restoration/overhaul. Finally, a final report, including comprehensive details for all actions required to support depot shall be generated in accordance with 4.10 of the PWS.
3.0 TRAVEL
Travel to Dyess AFB, Ellsworth AFB, Whiteman AFB, Barksdale AFB, Minot AFB, Sheppard AFB, Edwards AFB will be required for this requirement. Travel shall be reviewed and approved by the Government contracting official per 4.14 requirements.
4.0 PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE (PoP)
The estimated PoP shall not exceed 240 calendar days from task order issue.
