About this file
This document provides answers to questions regarding a solicitation for vending services at Hill Air Force Base in Utah. It specifies that there are 18 micro market kiosks, 32 snack vending machines, and 168 soda vending machines currently in use across approximately 90-98 buildings on the base. For the new contract, all micro market kiosks and snack machines would need to be replaced or maintained, along with a minimum of 100 mixed brand soda machines or around 150 separate Coke and Pepsi machines. The document also addresses healthy food allocation and states that all food and snack machines should offer some healthier choices marked as such, with beverage machines providing a mix of zero sugar, diet, and regular drinks. Pricing is given as an average 24% commission for snack machines, 40% for beverage machines, and 24% for micro markets, though the evaluation will consider best value to the government.

Can you provide me with the current 2022-2023 commission rate on:
Snack Vending -% Beverage Vending -% Micro Market -%
Below is the average, but also remember that our evaluation is a “Best Value” to the Government.
Snack Vending - 24% Beverage Vending – avg 40% Micro Market - 24%
How many are coolers and how many are actual vending machines
How many Kiosk are needed based on the background info?
How many vending machines are allocated to healthy foods?
1. Currently have 18 “Micro Markets Self-Checkout Kiosks” with an estimated 2 planned to be installed after the contracts are completed. The micro markets vary in size and have an arrangement of coolers/freezers in them. We would need all 20 to be replaced/maintained.
2. We have 32 Snack Vending Machines. We would need all to be replaced/maintained.
3. 168 Soda Vending Machines. This is total between both Coke and Pepsi branded machines. If a vendor offered both Coke and Pepsi products, theoretically we could reduce the number of machines with a mixed brand machine as there wouldn’t be a need to have 1 coke and 1 Pepsi machine next to each other if they were combined in one machine. Some facilities due to the volume of customers would need multiple machines regardless. At minimum we would need 100 plus soda vending machines for mixed machines, and around 150 total if they are separate coke/pepsi like we currently have.
4. Healthy Food Allocation: We don’t have specific machines allocated to just healthy food. We like all food/snack machines to offer a small selection of healthy foods to be marked as a healthier choice. The number and types of healthy food/snack can be changed and edited based on sales. Beverage vending machines we like to have a mix of zero sugar/diet drinks, waters, and regular sugar drinks. These too can be changed and edited based on sales for each machine. Healthier options, if possible, should be marked.
All of the machines are spread between about 90-98 buildings across the base.
