About this file

This Item Cross-Reference Worksheet details technical specifications for KC-135 Maintenance Platform Systems, covering three distinct maintenance stand types: Cargo Door Stand, Aileron Stands, and Beavertail Stands. The document provides comprehensive requirements for each stand, including platform dimensions, load capacities, materials, mobility features, and safety standards. Key specifications include adjustable platform heights, weight capacities ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 pounds, mobile configurations with swivel casters, and compliance with OSHA and Department of Air Force safety regulations.

The stands must be constructed primarily from aluminum with steel components coated in semi-gloss royal blue, feature adjustable hydraulic systems, include safety railings and toe-boards, and be designed for durability with a minimum useful life of 25 years. Each stand type has unique design requirements, such as specific platform extensions, holding bar configurations, and positioning relative to aircraft components. The document emphasizes safety, ease of maintenance, and compatibility with existing KC-135 maintenance infrastructure, with detailed technical specifications for platform heights, railing dimensions, stairs, and overall stand functionality.
