Department of Engineering Mechanics (DFEM) Laboratory Equipment
INTRODUCTION
Below is a list of equipment that currently resides in the Applied Mechanics Laboratory of the
Department of Engineering Mechanics (DFEM) as well as equipment that resides in other
USAFA labs, but is readily available for DFEM use. The list is current as of July 2014, but is subject to change as new equipment is purchased and old equipment wears out or is excessed to
Defense Reutilization Marketing Offices (DRMO). The list is grouped into several general categories.
The equipment on this list is available for use by cadets and faculty, and is typically available for use by on-site contractors acting in a mentoring/education/training/research role with cadets.
Some of the items (e.g. SEMs and Servo-Hydraulic Test Frames) have a large number of users at times – scheduling conflicts are resolved by the Center Director, CAStLE and the Director, Applied Mechanics Lab. Additional information about the availability and use of equipment by the Contractor can be found in the Work Statement and in individual task orders.
This list is provided with the solicitation for information purposes only and does not guarantee that any or all of this equipment will be available for individual task orders. Each task order RFP will specify relevant equipment available for Contractor use.
