Keynote DE9 calls for the existing Advantor security panel to remain. In order to perform some of the work required, for example: demolish doors/frames, EIFS, etc., the existing IDS devices will need to be disconnected and removed. Please advise us if the Government will have their IDS contractor perform this work in advance.
The Government will coordinate disconnect and removal of existing Advantor equipment with an IDS contractor. This activity will not be part of this contract.
Detial A1 on E-502 calls for a 1” EMT to the IDS panel located in room 113. Our assumption is that all we would be required to do is install a J-box above or near the Advantor panel and final connections from the IDS panel and the J-box will be by others. Please advise us if this is correct, otherwise if physical connection to the IDS panel is required, then will Advantor or security forces be on site to open the panel for this installation to take place?
The Government will coordinate final connections of/to existing Advantor equipment with an IDS contractor.
This activity will not be part of this contract.
Regarding the new pilot lockers, please advise on the finish of the lockers (laminate, stained wood, etc.) and if there are any other special requirements.
The lockers will be mahogany stained wood.
The RFIs posted with Amendment 002 calls to see Amendments for required changes to communication lines, however it does not clarify the following question: “Amendment 001 states that the copper voice backbone cable for building 1630 is no longer required. Please advise us if any changes will be made to sheets ED101 and ES101 under the Communication Line Relocation set addressing the copper telephone cable for buildings 1637, 163A, and 1628.”
The subcontractors do not require revised sheets, however we still need clarification on whether the copper telephone cable will still be required for the remaining building, since amendment 001 is only addressing 1630 and not buildings 1637, 1628, and 1632A. Please clarify if the copper telephone cable is required to building 1637, 1628, and 1632A.
Copper cabling for telephone is NOT required for Bldgs 1630, 1637, 163a and 1628. Since we are Voice-Over- Internet Protocol (VOIP) only data is required.
The RFIs posted with Amendment 002 states that amendment 001 does not increase the number of data drops required, however please clarify the following: Per E-103 all wall outlets are per A1/E-604. This outlet is for 2 data and 2 voice. Since voice is not longer required per amendment 001, is the Government now requesting we install 2 data cables per outlet or 4 data cables per outlet?
Only two data cabling per outlet will be required. No longer require copper cabling for voice.
