1. There was no scale indicated on the Drawing provided. Can you provide a scaled and annotated drawing so that we can accurately identify the lengths of the Transfer Line and the Hydrant Line? If one is not available, can you provide that exact length of the 6”

Transfer Line, clarify the size of the Hydrant Line, and provide the exact length of the

Hydrant Line?

Response: The 6” dia. transfer line is approximately 1 mile long. The 10” dia. Hydrant line is approximately 0.5 miles long. We can provide drawings during the site visit. The files are too big to send via e-mail.

2. Is the Transfer Line stainless steel or carbon steel? Is the Hydrant Line stainless steel or carbon steel?

Response: The transfer line is carbon steel. The hydrant line is stainless steel above ground and carbon steel below ground.

3. What pressure of nitrogen gas are the Transfer Line and Hydrant Line to be filled with?

Response: Unsure

4. The title of the solicitation is “Pickle POL Lines”. There is no reference to “pickling” in the

Statement of Work. Pickling implies the piping should be cleaned with acid. Pickling is typically not performed on fuel system piping. Please confirm that pickling with acid is not required.

Response: Pickling with acid is not required. The intent is for fuel and gas free.

5. The Statement of Work requires the Transfer Line and the Hydrant Line to be drained, pigged, made gas free, and filled with nitrogen. The Statement of Work does not require the piping to be cleaned with water. Water is typically never introduced into a fuel system. Please confirm that the piping does not have to be cleaned with water provided that all of the other requirements in the Statement of Work are met.

Response: The piping does not have to be cleaned with water.

6. Were there any changes made to the SOW as a result of the site walk?

Response: The only change to the SOW is the change to make the use of the nitrogen an optional item based on availabilty of funding.

7. Is the response date still Jul 19, 2010 4:00 pm Eastern for the proposal submittels?

Response: Yes the response date is still July 19, 2010 at 4 pm.
