About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers file for an RF Site Survey and Dead Zone Analysis solicitation issued by the Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command. The RFQ (FA570226Q0008) seeks a contractor to conduct a site survey of an existing radio communication network, with key technical details including a current P25 ELMR system using Motorola 6500 and 7500 models monitored by the radio shop. The network currently has 99 active base stations utilizing a P25 trucking system, and the solicitation is for commercial items with a small business size standard of $16.5M under NAICS code 541990.

The solicitation was amended on 8 and 9 January 2026, extending the response deadline to 16 January 2026 at 10:00 AM local time. Potential contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM). The Q&A document reveals that the government will provide handheld radio frequencies through their radio shop, and contractors do not need to supply a RAN scanner. The exact size of the coverage test remains to be determined, indicating potential flexibility in the project scope. All firms must be prepared to work with the existing P25 communication infrastructure and conduct a comprehensive site survey and dead zone analysis.
