Solicitation FA568226QA050 Questions and Answers
1. Please confirm whether you intend to use the TC8805 (2-wire interface) or TC8802 (Serial interface) for this application. USAF has recently decided to use serial interfaces off the TC8802 on their ILS components, not sure if this also applies to non-CONUS bases.
Our SMEs confirmed that the best course of action is to install the TC8802 (Serial interface), instead of the TC8805 (2-Wire interface).
2. May a U.S.-based small business propose with a qualified installation subcontractor or teaming partner?
A US-Based business could be used, if they are an authorized partner with TCCOM.
3. Are there local base access, badging, host-nation, or installation-specific requirements that must be addressed in the quote?
A base pass must be processed, after contract award, for the contractor. Please reference paragraph 4.12. of the Statement of Objectives (SOO) for additional information
4. Are there brand-name or exact-part requirements that must be met without substitution?
TCCOM is the brand name that must be used, and the exact parts that have been requested must be installed.
5. Is a site visit required or available?
A site visit should not be required to understand the scope of works if the vendor is an authorized provider of TCCOM equipment.
6. Are there shipping, delivery, or customs requirements that offerors should include in pricing?
Shipping expenses should include delivery to Aviano Air Base. Please note that incoming shipments must process a T1 document through the base customs office, to ensure material arrives without the requirement to pay import fees.
