Aviano AB desires a replacement for the current channel banks supporting the airfield. This SOO defines the requirement for the Contractor to Engineer, Furnish, Install and Test (EFI&T) into service, a replacement for legacy transport equipment for radio, voice, and data requirements at Aviano AB, Italy. This project consists of two distinct systems and shall replace the existing manufacturer discontinued Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) Channel Banks with a new fiber optic transmission system (FOTS). The FOTS shall be for a total of Seven (7) Facilities. See Table 1 for locations and general requirements. The Instrument Landing System (ILS) shelters consist of the Localizer (Loc) and Glideslope (GS). The Tactical Air Navigation (TACAN) is also on the Flight Line.

The Ground/Air Transmitter/Receiver (GATR), Ramp Control (RAPCON), Tower and Alternate (Alt) Tower are on Aviano AB. All future references to Government Furnished Equipment shall be reflected as (GFE). All locations are on Aviano AB, IT.
