About this file
This document contains Questions and Answers related to a federal contract opportunity for the purchase and installation of dormitory furniture for Building 1423 at Aviano Air Base.
The key details are:
- The original technical specifications document has the correct furniture measurements, despite differences observed during the site survey. The bookcase will need to fit safely on top of the desk.
- The desk will require an enclosed central drawer, not just a pull-out tray. The headboard is not a required item.
- The facility has a public use elevator with weight limitations, so the contractor must provide their own means for installation and removal able to reach the 2nd floor. Contractor will be provided space for two mobile dumpers during the work.
- The furniture dimensions remain the same as originally specified. The Air Force cannot provide information on a previous furniture contract.
- The 90-120 day delivery and 6 week installation requirements are based on working days, not calendar days. Delivery and installation are to be performed in the building, which is 2 floors.
- The procurement is for dark oak colored wood, but the Air Force is open to High Pressure Laminate (HPL) wood options.
