About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for the "Replace Heating Boiler Building 168" project, identified by project number VYHK 17-1145. The Q&A addresses multiple technical aspects of the heating system replacement, including electrical lines, conduits, control units, and project timeline. Key details include: Civil Engineering will operate the project, with lines needing to be complete and ready; the old oil tank will be decommissioned and filled with gravel; there are currently no conduits under the roads between buildings 138 and 168, requiring road cutting for new cable installation. The heat pumps will use manufacturer-made controls, and specific fan coil units are identified (GEA M421S.PE2 and M422S.PE2 from 2001). The construction timeline was originally 120 calendar days but has been adjusted to 150 days, with the requirement that the heating system must be functional from the end of September to the end of May. New drawings will be necessary for heat and ventilation pipes.

Replace Heating Boiler Building 168 project # VYHK 17-1145 – Q&A

Question

Answer

Should we take care of the lines up to the transformer station and Civil Engineering does the rest?

CE will operate this, however the lines must all be complete and ready to use.

What will happen to the old oil tank? The old oil tank will be decommissioned and filled with gravel (updated in SOW)

Are there conduits under the road? Yes, but we must determine where to put them. There are currently no conduits under the roads between 138 and 168 to use for the new cables. Road must be cut open What about the control units that need replacing?

The control units heat pumps will have manufacturer-made controls, not separate ones.

Please provide technical documentation for installed fan coil units

Recirculating coil unit: GEA M421S.PE2 (2001) Coil unit with outside air connection:

GEA M422S.PE2 (2001)

Please provide heat calculation for new heating system and fan coil units

Attached to the revised SOW sent on 14 Aug
