About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for the 48 LRS Modular Approach Shoring Kit federal contract opportunity.

The document clarifies six key specification discrepancies between the line-item description and technical specifications. The Government has confirmed that the required shoring kit must feature a pooch plate surface finish and does not require placement in a wooden container, only in a locked storage box. For pricing purposes, contractors must use the 15K maximum axle load rating despite conflicting technical language referencing 26,000 lbs. single axle capacity. The ramp width specification is confirmed as 24-inch-wide, not the 36-inch alternative mentioned in technical specifications. Contractors must provide equipment certified to the specific ATTLA #2012.02.06.02 Rev 1 standard; equivalent or newer ATTLA-certified alternatives will not be accepted. Additionally, the ramp thickness requirement is non-negotiable at 4 inches maximum due to storage and airlift space constraints; a 6-inch thickness solution is not acceptable.

48 LRS – Modular Approach Shoring Kit Q&A

1. Does the end user want a pooch plate surface or a heavy-duty cleat surface?

a. Pooch Plate Surface

2. Even though the shoring kit is stored in a locked storage box, the entire storage box must be in a wooden container. Correct?

a. No. The shoring kit storage box does not have to be in a wooden container.

3. The line-item description references a 15K maximum axle solution. However, the technical specification states that each ramp component assembly shall be rated at 26,000 lbs. maximum single axle. Kindly confirm which axle load rating should be considered for pricing?

a. 15k

4. The line-item specification references 24-inch-wide ramps. The technical specification indicates 36-inch-wide ramp component assemblies. Please confirm the required ramp width that should be quoted?

a. 24-inch-wide ramp

5. The specification requires certification to ATTLA #2012.02.06.02 Rev 1. A different solution is certified to ATTLA #2013.07.11 Rev 19. Would the Government accept equivalent or newer ATTLA-certified systems that meet or exceed the required operational capabilities and performance characteristics?

a. No.

6. The ramp solution available to us is a 6-inch thickness. The technical specification states that the ramp component should be "no thicker than 4 inches." Please confirm whether a 6-inch-thick ramp would be considered acceptable for this requirement?

a. No. Due to limited storage and space limitations during airlift, 4” is mandatory.
