About this file
This is an Internal Air Transport Certification document issued by AFLCMC/EZFC (ATTLA) on 30 April 2018 certifying the Flight Line Tow Tractor (FLTT) models 4x2 and 4x4 (Bobtail) for air transportation on USAF C-130, C-17, and C-5 aircraft.
The FLTT16-4x2 is a two-axle tractor with dimensions of 224" L x 92" W x 84" H, gross weight of 8,920 lbs, and GVWR of 11,100 lbs. The FLTT16-4x4 has similar dimensions (224" L x 91" W x 86" H) with a GVWR of 11,500 lbs. Maximum weights for air transport are 11,100 lbs for the 4x2 model and 11,500 lbs for the 4x4 model, with specific front and rear axle weight limitations noted. Item preparation requires removal of the rear middle pintle, shipper-provided shoring materials, and certification of hazardous materials per TM 38-250/AFMAN 24-204(I). Loading instructions specify use of general aircraft cargo loading procedures with mandatory sleeper shoring under the front axle and approach shoring when loading on C-17 or C-130 aircraft. Restraint requirements mandate compliance with 3G forward, 1.5G aft and lateral, and 2G up loads, with provisions rated at 10,000 lbs and pintle hooks at 15,000 lbs. Shoring specifications include approach shoring dimensions of 65" L x 24" W x 8" H (two required) and sleeper shoring of 8" L x 8" W stacks for the front axle and 10" L x 10" W stacks for the rear axle when required. The document must be provided to the ATOC representative and aircraft loadmaster prior to loading, with required distribution to AMC/A3V, AMC/A4T, and SDDC TEA.
