About this file

This document is a Question and Answer (Q&A) attachment related to a Request for Information (RFI) for an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) upgrade at Kadena Air Base. The RFI solicits information on replacing antiquated IDS sensors, installing new alarm sensors, and associated equipment to meet security requirements outlined in AFI 31-101 and FIPS 140-2 for the protection of PL 2-4 assets.

The Q&A addresses various technical requirements, including the need for FIPS 140-2 compliance, use of existing legacy infrastructure, allowable wiring configurations, network switch requirements, and programming responsibilities. It also provides details on shipping, testing, and acceptance requirements. The Q&A clarifies that no government-furnished equipment will be provided, and that the contractor must supply all necessary power, connectivity, and other requirements to complete government acceptance testing and alarm certifications.
