Questions and Answers for Cryogenics Plant Removal and Installation

1. Who is responsible to drive the anchors to the anchor points?

Answer: Another contractor is responsible for installing base plate and anchor points for new production plant equipment.

2. Japanese crane is installed Auto Moment Limiter (Green Indicator = safe, Yellow Indicator = warning, and Red Indicator = not safe ) to prevent fall-over. Based on the lifting span and the weight of the cold box, and if we were required to operate within "Green Indication", we would be required to bring a 200-ton (or similar sized) crane. If we submit a critical lift plan, will you allow us to operate within "Yellow Indication" (or with a smaller sized crane) ?

Answer: As long as it is safe and will not injure personnel.

3. Could you please provide us with the as-built drawings for the existing piping, if available? Please also provide the location of the connection point and the size/material of existing pipe.

Answer: There is no as-built drawing for the current piping; all piping needed for install will accompany new equipment.

4. In section 1.04, it states not begin demolition of old plants until a notice to proceed (NTP) is received from the Contracting Officer. Please advise whether or not Freon is contained inside the old plants when we receive NTP.

Answer: Freon (R-22) will be removed via a third party prior to work being conducted.

5. Who is responsible to deliver the equipment from Bldg. 706 Camp Kinser to Bldg. 720 Kadena Air Base?

Answer: Equipment is arriving via TMO to Bldg 720

6. In section B-2 of the PWS, it states that if scrap metal with lead-based paint is not recycled, the paint needs to removed. Please advise whether or not sampling for lead is required prior to removal and disposal.

Answer: Sampling will not be required.

7. In section 3.05, it states to route and connect all electrical conduits and pull wiring from all equipment to main power control panel. Could youplease provide us with the as-built drawings for the existing electrical plan, if available?

Answer: See attachment below.

8. Please advise whether or not asbestos is contained in the lagging materials of the existing pipes.

Answer: It is unknown whether or not asbestos is containg in the lagging materials of the existing pipes.
