Questions and Answers

Cryogenics Plant Removal and Installation

1. Is the new cold box the same size as the old one? No. The new cold box is 5 feet taller.

2. Will the the contractor need to remove the vaporizer? No. The contractor will not need to remove the vaporizer.

3. Will the contractors need to disconnect all of the electrical equipment that needs to be removed?

Yes. The contractor will need to disconnect all of the electrical equipment.

4. Will the condenser fan need to be removed? Yes. The contractor will remove condenser fan.

5. Will the contractor need to dispose of all of the equipment that is removed. No. All of the large equipment such as the cold box, condenser fan, and the air compresser unit etc. will be disposed of by the Air Force. The contractor will just be in charge of removing the equipment from the building and arranging it neatly outside. All of the smaller equipment such as nuts and bolts should be disposed of by the contractor.

6. Will the contractor be in charge of oil removal? Yes. 18 LRS will be in charge of the majority of oil removal from equipment like the lube oil skid but the contractor might be required to do some oil removal.

7. What kind of equipment is recommended to have for removal of the items? A 15 ton crane as well as a 10k fork lift is recommended but not necessarily needed.

8. Can the contractors cut the equipment to make it easier for removal? Some of the equipment can be cut and taken apart to make it easier for removal but some equipment such as the aircompressor will not be taken apart.

9. What are the dimensions of the garage doors that contractors will be using to remove most of the equipment? The doors are 141.5 inches in height and 119 inches
