The design is based on existing "as-built" drawings with some corrections per field survey. The Government does not have a light coordinate list. Locations of the NAVAIDS are determined by the dimensions shown on the Site Electrical Plans (E-201 through E-221) and installation details (E-501 through E-506). Taxiway edge light spacing is shown on the Site Electrical Plans. Taxiway Light Position Detail/E-506 shows the relative position of the new taxiway edge lights in relation to the taxiway edge striping and the existing taxiway edge lights. The contractor is required to conduct the appropriate survey and measurement before installation. In addition, Sheet E- 002, General Scope of Work - Airfield Lighting, item #16 requires the Contractor to provide Geo-Base "As-Built" drawings: "UPON

E-601 & E-
It seems that the cables between Safety Cutout Switch and CCR do not need to be exchanged on the diagram; however there are circuits are currently used 3kVA cables between them. Should we consider to exchange new at this part as well?
If so, cable connectors (Plug Receptacle) need to be exchanged. Is this plug FAA L823? We believe that Japanese products are currently used.
Replace existing 3KV cables with new FAA L-824 5KV cables between the existing CCRs and Safety Cut-Out Switches. See Amendment 0003, Sheet E-002, GENERAL SCOPE OF WORK – AIRFIELD LIGHTING, Item #8, Sheet E-601 and E-602.

Though stated as “Interlock RGL regulator shall turn on whenever REDL(A) or REDL(B) regulator are tuned on”, RGL is connected to the same circuits on TEDL or Airfield Sign. We believe that when REDL is turned on, all RGL, Taxiway Edge Lights and Airfield Sign are also turned on. Is this how we set the control panel?
All new Runway Guard Lights shall be circuited to existing TEDL #14. Only Runway Guard Lights shall be connected to TEDL #14.

In relation to the above mentioned question, the automatic control is currently set as when REDL is turned on, TEDL is turned off. Should we consider this program needs to be modified as well?

If REDL(B) is turned on, TEDL #14 shall automatically be turned on.
TEDL #14 can be turned on manually for inspection/repair/testing if REDL(A) and REDL(B) is off.

51 Base Can E-501 & E-
The drawings specify L867B (12” non‐load bearing base cans) through out, however the detail drawings really look like L‐868B (12” load bearing bases). For USAF installations typically they now use L868B bases for both inpavement and elevated lights. I am concerned that the L‐867B is wrong.
Also on E‐507, that page shows the plaza cans and they call out both L867D left side and L867B right side, but then state a 15” cover for the 12” can….. In all cases, there are no reference to the thickness of the baseplates nor the blank solid covers on the plaza cans nor the sign cans.
In addition there are no cover plate gaskets specified.
FAA L-867B and L868B (12” and 16” diameter) base cans shall be provided as specified. FAA L-867B base cans are acceptable for non-load bearing installations, which covers the majority of the project.
See Amendment 0003, Sheets E-501, E-502, E-503, E-504, E-506, E- 507 and E-518.
Base cans for junction can plazas shall be FAA L-867B (16” diameter) with L-867B cover. Cover thickness shall be in accordance with FAA AC 150-5345-42H, paragraph 3.1.3.5.1 (minimum 0.375” thick) for FAA L-867B base cans. See Amendment 0003, Sheets E- 507.
