Questions for FTQW 19‐0504 CHPP Electrical Phase B, FA500422B0008;

1. What is the procedure to gain access to the work areas each day?

Answer: The Contractor will be provided with a Visitor Entry List that they will fill out and return to CES. This list will request personnel name, birthday, last 4 of SSN, State/DL #, and Days/Time for Entry. CES will then approve and sponsor these individuals and pass the visitor list to Security Forces.

Once the visitor list is with SFS, contractors will have access to base. CES will also pass this list to the Power Plant so CHPP security personnel can grant entry to Contractor personnel through the man door security entry way.

2. Is material and tool storage allowed inside the work areas?

Answer: Yes, but space is limited due to other projects currently taking place at the CHPP. The Contractor will need to coordinate with the CHPP to ensure storage is not impacting plans operations and maintenance.

3. Please provide the location of acceptable temporary contractor office, material storage, and laydown areas?

Answer: See red lined zone in the picture on the next page. Temporary offices, storage, and laydown areas will need to be coordinated with the Government to de‐conflict with other contractor’s onsite at the CHPP for other projects.

4. Line #21 on the Submittal Register references a Confined Space Entry Permit submittal. Will the scope of work require access to non‐permit or permit required confined spaces? If so, please provide the locations of the confined spaces?

Answer: There is no need for confined space entry on this project.

5. Is the contractor’s superintendent allowed to serve as the QC manager and SSHO?

Answer: The contractor’s superintendent is not allowed to serve as the QC manager. They can serve as the SSHO.

6. Are any areas within the CHPP considered explosive zones—I believe that some of this plant is considered Explosive and requires intrinsically safe equipment and controls, will this project affect any of these locations and if so what precautions will be required to work in these areas if any?

Answer: Care needs to be taken throughout the entire CHPP. Hot permit and fire watch is required for any cutting or grinding. Work done in the bunker room needs intrinsically safe equipment. Areas are not explicitly considered “explosive zones” but there are hot pipes and hazards throughout the plant that require attention to detail and mindfulness of safety precautions.

7. Can a 2 week bid extension be provided?

Answer: The solicitation close has been extended to 21 July 2022 as shown in amendment 00001.

8. What are the dimensions of the freight elevator?

Answer: 48” W x 72” D x95 ½” H. 106” and 118” Diagonal.

9. During the walk through I noticed that there were many fixtures installed under Phase A that utilized Cast Aluminum boxes. It appeared some were not installed according to Manufacture/Electrical Good Standards. Is the use of Aluminum Cast boxes permitted under Phase B, and can they be installed as Phase A?

Answer: Boxes for fixtures, wiring and raceway systems may be cast‐metal type as per the specification Section 26 20 00. All installation completed for this project should be done according to Manufacturer/Electrical Goods and Standards.

10. Is it possible for the designers to re‐issue prints that have/show gridlines on all plan sheets?

Answer: Due to drawings being a previously contracted project, a revised version of these drawings cannot be re‐ordered.
