SYNOPSIS OF WORK

PROJECT TITLE: F-35 Renovate Weapons Load Training

LOCATION: EIELSON AFB, ALASKA

PROJECT: FTQW 18-0209

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

The purpose of this project is to renovate Building 1340 to accommodate the addition of operations for the two incoming F-35A squadrons, as well as accommodating unique requirements for the F-35A aircraft. Work shall include architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection work, as well as minor remediation of contaminated soils.

The architectural scope of work requires renovation/reconfiguration of approximately 3,895 square feet of administrative space in the Weapons Load Training (WLT) hangar (B1340). In addition, the Wheel and Tire Shop will be relocated from its current location in Building 1232 to the west addition of Building 1340. Replacement of existing building components, such as the roof system, interior and exterior doors, windows, and interior paint are also scheduled to be completed under this scope of work.

The structural scope of work of this project includes seismic renovation of an existing weapons load training hangar and addition of a Wheel and Tire Shop to one portion of the building. A new mezzanine will be framed to house the new pump room and provide for larger mezzanine space above for air handling equipment.

The mechanical scope of this project includes renovations to numerous mechanical systems in the hangar and office space, including the building’s heating, ventilating and exhaust systems, replacement of the heating water glycol system, replacement of PRV system, replacement of plumbing fixtures, replacement of finned tube heaters, addition of a fire water pump system and service room, addition of air compressor and integrated user systems, replacement of water heater, addition of eyewash stations, and replacement/addition of floor and roof drains. The Wheel and Tire shop shall have upgrades to heating, ventilation and exhaust systems, installation of hand wash and eyewash stations, installation of a compressed air system, and replacement of roof drains and floor drains.

The fire protection scope of this project includes replacement of existing Fire Alarm system with Fire Alarm/Mass Notification System (MNS), installation of new sprinklers, installation of fire water pump in new fire pump room, and installation of test header.

The electrical scope of this project shall include construction of a pad-mounted transformer, upgrade of electrical services to the building, installation of electrical service for portable generator connection, replacement of general/operational and emergency lighting, addition/replacement/renovation of voice, communications, data and electrical systems and receptacles, installation of Intrusion Detection System (IDS), installation of Access Control and CCTV systems, and installation of new power metering system with remote monitoring capability.

The hazardous material scope of work should only be limited to disposal of universal waste, but shall also include screening of hazardous materials pertaining to the existing building.

Construction schedule shall be standard working hours as is authorized by the government:

Monday thru Friday, 7AM to 4:30PM.
