SYNOPSIS OF WORK

PROJECT TITLE: REPAIR CH&PP ELECTRIC PANELS & CIRCUITS, PHASE A

LOCATION: EIELSON AFB, ALASKA

PROJECT: FTQW 18-0504

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

Work includes upgrading and modifying the low voltage electrical and lighting systems at Eielson’s Central Heat & Power Plant (CH&PP). the Contractor shall provide new automatic transfer switch, and dedicated lighting transformer; provide an emergency lighting inverter with battery back-up, and an emergency lighting panel; and provide new light fixtures, conduit, conductors boxes and appurtenances to replace the light fixtures in the basement and on the first floor of the CH&PP. Demolish the existing light fixtures and associated conduit, conductors and appurtenances in the basement and on the first floor of the CH&PP. Provide temporary services and lighting as necessary to maintain CH&PP operations throughout the construction period.

Surfaces within the plant are covered in settled dust. Much of the dust contains silica and heavy metals. Many of the surfaces in the plant are coated with lead-based paint and there are asbestos containing materials within the plant. The contractor shall take appropriate measures to avoid exposing his workers to unacceptable hazards.

Estimated Project Cost is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000.
