About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document addressing clarifications for a rubber removal project solicitation.
The document resolves six key inquiries regarding project execution and specifications. Water disposal from the rubber removal process will occur at a Sanitary Sewer Manhole located off Red Fire Road adjacent to the contractor's staging area at no cost. Item 0006 on the Price Schedule correctly specifies 52,500 square feet (the 25,500 figure listed in the quantity line was identified as a typographical error). For bead materials, contractors must use Type II beads in accordance with FS TT-P-1325, as these beads are not listed in the referenced UFGS 32.17.23 standard. This is a Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) set-aside, not an 8(a) set-aside. Regarding crack repair methodology, the specification section 3.3.2 requirement to fill cracks within 1/4 inch below the pavement surface takes precedence over previously observed overband methods. For row numbering on the parking apron, contractors must follow the SOW Addendum and accompanying technical image showing circular and triangular control marking details with yellow numbers on black backgrounds. Airfield Management has directed that all 23 rows be painted with numbers on the pavement on both sides of the parking apron.
