About this file
This is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) document providing clarifications on a door and frame replacement contract solicitation, dated May 14, 2026.
The document addresses three key bidding clarifications. First, regarding hazardous materials testing: contractors must test all door/frame replacements for hazardous materials at nine specified buildings (B198, B512, B1784, B211, B1162, B1300, B1361, B1613, and B2316). Asbestos is suspected in the grout of frames at buildings B198, B512, and B1784 only, while both lead-based paint and asbestos are suspected at buildings B211, B1162, B1300, B1361, B1613, and B2316. Second, regarding disposal of demolished materials: contractors have discretion in disposing of concrete and grout removed from demolished frames, with the government serving as one potential disposal avenue for metal materials. Third, regarding the Hardware List spreadsheet referenced in a previous Q&A response: the government confirms that this spreadsheet was previously provided to Contracting and should be available to bidders through that office. The document is digitally signed by HAMPP.YAN.VLADIMIRLOV and dated May 14, 2026.

1. In response to question and answer 2 from the Q&A;
a. For bidding purposes, please clarify if the government suspects asbestos containing material in the grout of the frames at buildings B198, B512, B1784, B211, B1162, B1300, B1361, B1613 and B2316. Must be tested for asbestos.
b. For bidding purposes, please clarify if the contractor will be expected to test for hazardous materials at each door/frame that is being replaced, or only in areas where the government suspects hazardous materials are located? Yes testing at all.
c. It’s our understanding based on the answer that only asbestos is suspected at buildings 198, 512, and 1784, while both lead-based paint and asbestos is suspected at buildings 211, 1162, 1300, 1361, 1613 and 2316. Please confirm.
That is correct.
2. In response to question and answer 6 from the Q&A; Does the government expect the contractor to remove all concrete/grout from the demolished frames prior to turning them over to the government? Dispose of the demolished materials as convenient for you. The government is 1 avenue of disposal for metal.
3. In response to question and answer 13 from the Q&A; Please provide the “Hardware List” spreadsheet. I provided the “Hardware List” to Contracting.
