Q: Please clarify whether a new Distech Control System is to be included in the Sample Project or if Distech Control System has already been installed. Please also clarify if Sample Project should include front end graphics and JACE and the preference for integration.
A: "The existing air handlers are currently controlled by a Staefa control system. This system is to be replaced with a new Distech control system that provides points as shown in UFC 3-410-01 Appendix D, Minimum Points List. A new JACE will be required. New front end graphics will be required.
The building gets its chilled water from the Central Chilled Water Plant (B547). There is a control valve to modulate the amount of chilled water going to the building. This CHW goes through a Heat Exchanger to provide the building loop with chilled water. Currently, Chiller Plant Water Valve, Heat Exchanger and Chilled Water Pump are on a Distech Control.
The new Distech system will not tie into the existing building system. A new Comm port is required for the new JACE to communicate to the front end."
Q: Sample Project SOW Item 2.7.3 states that, “…The seals shall control enough leakage to be able to maintain the required 0.05 IWC negative pressure…” During the site visit it was stated that the pressure differential needed to be “0.02.” Please clarify whether the preference is for 0.05 or 0.02.
A: The pressure requirement is 0.05 iwc as stated in UFC 4-010-01.
Q: Should the Sample Project include full mechanical specifications from Mechanical Engineer or will noted drawings be sufficient?
A: The Luke Mechanical Specifications included in the RFP will be used for all projects. For proposal purposes, we require that a table of contents is submitted to include all sections that are relevant to the Sample Project. Choose the sections that are found in the Luke Mechanical Specifications.
