About this file

This document presents Salient Characteristics for a Backflow Software System for the Air Force. The software must be a web-based service compatible with multiple operating systems (Windows 11, iOS, Linux, Android, Chrome OS) and web browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Safari), adhering to Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) standards. It requires multiple user and instance support, customizable data structures and forms aligned with AFMAN 32-1067 Water and Fuels Systems requirements, and must meet AICPA/SOC 2 Type II Certification, FedRAMP, and Department of Defense Security Requirements Guide (DODSRG) Level 2 and 4 certifications.

The software must provide robust security features including Identity and Access Management, Access Controls, Security Audits/Penetration Testing, and Disaster Recovery/Backup capabilities. Data ownership must rest solely with the owner, and the system must support migration from the XC2 Live legacy data structure. Additionally, the software must include comprehensive training elements and on-demand live chat support for end users, with the ability to customize functionality specific to Air Force backflow prevention program requirements.
